One dead after Nutbush electrical fire

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person is dead after a fire in the Nutbush neighborhood Saturday.

The Memphis Fire Department responded to a home on Mamie Road Saturday evening. According to MFD, an electrical issue caused the fire.

The fire has been ruled accidental, the fire department says. The fire department has not released details on the victim at this time.

This comes after a fire at the Turning Pointe Apartments in Whitehaven left at least two families without a home Saturday evening. The fire department has not released details on how that fire started.
