OnlyFans starAnnie Knight reveals what happened when mom found out about her career

The content creator dubbed Australia’s “most sexually active woman” has revealed the fallout after her own mother discovered what she did for work.

Annie Knight, who is based on the Gold Coast, told news.com.au she was “devastated” when her mum didn’t talk to her for two weeks after discovering she was publishing content on OnlyFans.

It forced the 27-year-old to communicate with her mom via her stepdad.

“My mum and I are very close, and have always been very close. We speak on the phone every single day, so those two weeks where she refused to talk to me I was very sad and really worried she would never talk to me again,” she said.

There was also and underlying fear that her mom, Karyn, wouldn’t accept her line of work.

Knight said she now recognizes it was very much how her mother found out about her job and that she hadn’t been told by her daughter.

The relief Knight felt when her mum was ready to talk was unimaginable — but there were also nerves about what the conversation held. She said she knew exactly what she was going to say as she had been rehearsing the discussion.

“Once I had the conversation with her, she didn’t come around 100 percent straight away. We went back to talking regularly and she was put at ease a bit more,” she said.

“It took a year or two for her to 1,000 percent back me and support me, which I think is quite normal for anyone. It sucks that it’s like that because society has made everyone that way.”

During an episode of the “Annie Knight Unhinged” podcast, Knight’s mom revealed she found out about her daughter’s job through a news article while waiting for injections ahead of an overseas trip.

She was confused as to why her daughter was on a mainstream publication. At the time, she didn’t understand what OnlyFans was.

“I remember having a bit of a panic attack, and I said to the family we weren’t staying for the rest of the injections,” she said.

What followed was two weeks of the pair not speaking, with Karyn revealing she didn’t think she could speak to her daughter during that time.

The mom said she was worried about whether her daughter was safe, and why Knight hadn’t confided in her.

She was also concerned about what her daughter’s future would look like, but now that she knows everything she does feel a lot better about her daughter’s career. The mom did say she still does worry about Knight’s safety.

Knight, who recently announced her engagement to longtime friend Henry Brayshaw, has a long history of being “outed” to her family.

Knight’s X-rated career was “outed” to her father Simon, who up until that point had only known his daughter worked in “social media,” she revealed in 2023.

“It was pretty awful to receive a panicked call from my dad saying ‘a reporter just showed up at my door and is saying my daughter is a sex maniac,’” she explained to news.com.au at the time.

“My heart sank, not because I was ashamed but because my dad is so innocent and kind and he loves me so much he would have been so confused and shocked by that.

“I’m not sure exactly what was said to my dad but the fact he paraphrased ‘sex maniac’ makes me think it wasn’t anything pleasant.

“It made me feel like I was being slut-shamed. But thankfully I had a conversation with dad and explained what OnlyFans was and he was okay with it, he’s very supportive.”
