Search for driver who hit woman on Little Aston golf course
Officers are continuing to search for a driver after a woman was hit by a van on a golf course following a police chase.
West Midlands Police said officers were using CCTV and information from witnesses to locate the driver and two passengers after the crash left the woman, aged in her 60s, with serious injuries.
Emergency services were called to Aston Wood Golf Club in the village of Little Aston, on the border of Staffordshire and Sutton Coldfield, on Friday morning.
The woman remains in a critical but stable condition and her family is being supported by officers, police added.
“The driver and two passengers from the van ran off and remain outstanding,” said a force spokesperson.
They added the matter has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) which is investigating West Midlands Police officers’ involvement prior to the collision.
Staffordshire Police, which is carrying out inquiries with West Midlands officers, appealed for anyone with information or recorded footage from the area at the time to get in touch.
