‘Severance’s Sarah Bock Would Love To Join ‘Shrinking’ And ‘Abbott Elementary’ Next: “I’m Such A Fan”

Severance may have said goodbye to its breakout Season 2 star Sarah Bock in Episode 9, “The After Hours,” but here’s hoping we haven’t seen the last of the 18-year-old actor on our TV screens.

Bock stole hearts and boggled brains when she joined the sophomore season of the hit Apple TV+ series as Miss Huang, the Severed Floor’s suspiciously young deputy manager. We eventually learned she was working alongside Mr. Milchick (Tramell Tillman) as part of Lumon’s Wintertide Fellowship. And though Milchick shipped her off to Svalbard in Episode 9, if given the opportunity to return for more mysterious and important work, Bock assured Decider that Miss Huang would be at the ready: “Of course [I would return.] I would do anything. I love the team on Severance.”

While we await an official Severance Season 3 renewal, we’ll be manifesting more Miss Huang in our lives. In the meantime, however, Bock told Decider she’d love to appear on two other favorite TV shows: Shrinking and Abbott Elementary.

“Oh my gosh. I mean, staying in the Apple TV+ lane, I love Shrinking. I would love to be on that show. I’m such a fan,” Bock told Decider over Zoom when asked if she had a dream show in mind for her second major TV role.

Season 3 of Shrinking is already in production, so Bock might not be able to join the series as one of Paul, (Harrison Ford), Jimmy (Jason Segel), or Gaby’s (Jessica Williams) clients, or Alice’s (Lukita Maxwell) school friends this time around. But the cast did tell Decider that despite co-creator Bill Lawrence’s initially-envisioned three-season arc, they’d be open to a potential Season 4 should the perfect story arise. If the series does continue, there’s still hope for Bock to get her Shrinking on! If not, she has another show in mind…

Abbott Elementary is also really good,” Bock continued. “But I don’t know where I would fit in on that show, because I’m too old to be in elementary school and too young to be a teacher.”

The most obvious role Bock could play at the school given her Severance experience? A fellow! “Exactly. Another fellowship for me,” Bock laughed.

Quinta Brunson’s Emmy-winning comedy already received a Season 5 renewal from ABC in January. And since its first season, the hit mockumentary has found ways to welcome everyone from Gritty and Ayo Edebiri to Bradley Cooper, fan-favorite Philadelphia Eagles players, and more as guest stars. Surely there’s a place for Bock — especially since Brunson is friends with Adam Scott, guest starred on the Starz revival of Party Down in 2023, and is moderating the Severance‘s Season 2 PaleyFest panel later this month. A fan!

Whether Bock jumps right into another TV role after Severance or not, she’ll be busy studying theater and psychology as a freshman at Northwestern University, where co-star and NU alum Britt Lower suggested she attend. “For the most part, everyone here that I knew previously, before the show came out, I didn’t really tell them that I was in Severance, so I kind of got to know them just as me first, which I’m glad I did,” Bock said when asked how life has changed since Severance Season 2 premiered in January 2025. “I’ve been getting recognized a little bit, which has been weird for sure, but it’s always been super great interactions.”

While we’re on the top of dream roles, Decider also spoke with fan-favorite Severance star Sydney Cole Alexander, who plays Lumon PR rep Natalie Kalen. In addition to starring in an action movie, Alexander also longs to join another popular Apple TV+ series and a comedy.

“I am obsessed with Silo and I would love to be on Silo,” Alexander said. “I think it’s an amazing show. And I do love drama, but I’m also into comedy as well. So maybe something like Arrested Development would be fun, to play a really over the top character.”

Fingers crossed that our favorite Severance cast members start popping up on some other beloved shows in the future. And be sure to read Decider’s full interviews with Bock and Alexander for more behind-the-scenes insights.
