El Paso woman dies after failing to maintain lane of travel on I-10 East at Sunland Park

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) β€” A 32-year-old El Paso woman died last week after she failed to maintain her lane of travel while driving on I-10 East at Sunland Park, according to El Paso Police.

1 person dead in crash along I-10 in West El Paso

Police say its Special Traffic Investigations Unit responded at around 11:30 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash on Friday, Dec. 13, on I-10 East at Sunland Park.

Monica Alvarado, 32, was traveling eastbound on I-10 East in an SUV when for unknown reasons, she failed to maintain her lane of travel, according to police.

Police say the SUV veered off the roadway and crashed. Alvarado died as a result of the crash.

Police say failure to maintain a single lane of travel is the contributing
factor in this crash.

This is the 68th traffic fatality of 2024 compared to 75 at the same time in 2023.
