Incredible Orca Encounter Thrills Tour Guides in Argentina

A group of tour guides had an unforgettable encounter with five orcas near their boat in Puerto Piramides, Argentina, on March 17.

Footage posted by diving company Punta Piramide Buceo shows the incredible moment, identifying the orcas as members of a known subgroup: Pao, a male; his sister Shekei; his niece Konke; and her two calves.

Pedro Angiolini, a member of the company, told Storyful that they were able to identify the orcas because of a catalog of local killer whales.

“That tremendous image will remain engraved in our hearts for a long time,” they wrote.

Each year between February and May, orcas can be seen near the Valdes Peninsula, establishing it as one of the world’s most significant breeding and reproduction sites, Credit: @puntapiramidebuceo @antonelladiaz @alcantaraalberto via Storyful
