These St. Louis suburbs ranked as best places to live in the U.S.
ST. LOUIS — Five suburbs in the St. Louis region ranked within the top 50 places to live in the country, according to a new report.
An annual list created by Niche ranked suburbs across the country according to data gathered from schools and the housing market, statistics from the U.S. Census, diversity, cost of living, and walkability. The list also weighs community reviews to find the top-ranked suburbs.
Which St. Louis suburbs ranked in the top 50?
Brentwood ranked highest among the St. Louis suburbs and was noted for having great public schools, housing, nightlife, and good for families. While the area was given a lower score for crime and its lack of diversity, according to Niche.com.

Clayton was noted for having a great nightlife and diversity alongside a lot of restaurants and coffee shops, despite a low ranking for housing and crime.
Further down, Ballwin and Richmond Heights were noted for highly rated public schools, housing, and good for families.
Just two places down from Brentwood, Chesterfield was noted for a “dense suburban feel” with lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks.
Colonial Village, Virginia, and Carmel, Indiana, topped the list, followed by Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, and Uptown, Florida.
