This Colorado town is one of the fastest-growing wealthy suburbs in America
DENVER (KDVR) β Colorado is home to one of the fastest-growing wealthy suburbs in America, according to a recent study analyzing population change.
To determine the fastest-growing American suburbs, personal finance website GoBankingRates used data from the U.S. Census American Community Survey to identify all U.S. suburbs with 25,000-100,000 people and median incomes of $150,000 or higher. Researchers then used U.S. Census data to see each cityβsΒ changeΒ in population from 2018 to 2023.
Study ranks Colorado among worst states for driving, auto theft
The top three suburbs on the list are all in Texas, and there were several cities that made the list in California, New York, Massachusetts and Maryland.
One Colorado town made the list β Erie, located about 27 miles north of Denver, ranked at No. 4 among the 30 fastest-growing suburbs in America.
According to the study, the population in Erie grew 39.02% from 2018-2023, which is more than double the growth seen in most of the following cities on the list. Meanwhile, the No. 3 city on the list saw more than double the growth that Erie saw.

Erieβs livability score of 76 tied for the 10th-lowest score of any city on the list, but it was the highest in the top five. The lowest livability score was 60 in El Dorado Hills, California, and the highest was a three-way tie at 88 for Redmond and Issaquah in Washington and Ridgewood, New Jersey.
