Travis Kelce arrives at Arrowhead in local nonprofit’s EV ’69 Chevelle
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Teens at a local nonprofit recently converted a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle into an all-electric vehicle, and the Chiefs’ top tight end showed up to Arrowhead behind its wheel.
Two Kelce connections benefit Operation Breakthrough
Travis Kelce, who is currently bolstering his case for the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, has been working with Operation Breakthrough, a local nonprofit that offers educational programs for children across the metro, for years.
The ’69 Chevelle is the first ever muscle car EV conversion completed by teens, according to Operation Breakthrough. Kelce and the 87Running Foundation helped to get the project going at Kelce Car Jam this year.
Operation Breakthrough is currently selling raffle tickets to win the car. Tickets are $100 a piece and will help the nonprofit continue to provide programs for KC kids.
Now, the team of metro teenagers is working on a 1973 Ford Bronco conversion.
