NBC4 received a statement from Upper Arlington Superintendent Robert Hunt on Friday afternoon saying, “Student safety is a top priority in Upper Arlington Schools – both during school hours and during extracurricular activities. Federal and state privacy laws prohibit school districts from providing specific information regarding students.”

Hunt also shared in the statement that the situation is being investigated and “the consequences in our student code of conduct will apply.” The statement also mentioned the district is “committed to maintaining an educational, extra-curricular and work environment that is free from all forms of unlawful harassment, discrimination and hazing.”

NBC4 also put in requests for more information — including the victim’s condition — and is waiting to hear back.
