Virginia police respond to ‘barricade incident’ near CIA headquarters

A “barricade incident” near CIA headquarters in Virginia prompted a heavy police response on Wednesday, authorities said.

Police shut down part of Dolley Madison Blvd in both directions due to the incident in McLean, Fairfax County Police said.Β 

A CIA spokesperson confirmed the situation in a statement.

“There is an ongoing incident that law enforcement is currently responding to outside CIA Headquarters,” the spokesperson said. “Additional details will be made available as appropriate.”

A sergeant with Fairfax County Police told Fox News that police are assisting CIAΒ Police outside CIA headquarters.

Responding agencies included a SWAT team, Arlington County and Fairfax County officials, FOX5 DC reported.

No additional details about the barricade incident were immediately provided.
