West Texas Rehab collects $1.5M from annual telethon
Saturday night saw the return of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center’s annual telethon.

This was the 55th telethon and auction, held at the Abilene Convention Center and broadcast around the state and beyond. Returning to host the event was Charlie Chase.

A mix of familiar and new musical acts performed for viewers and the audience in the auditorium.

Abilene’s own Aaron Watson, Tigirlily Gold, Red Steagall, Jake Hooker and Aeriel Hutchins appeared each hour, entertaining and asking viewers to support the Rehab in its mission.

By the end of the night, the rehab raised nearly $1.5 million, benefitting the 850 daily patients served by the rehab’s three West Texas locations, which provide services at no charge to clients.
