Where Is Whoopi Goldberg On ‘The View’?
The View kicked off this morning with our favorite ladies gathered around the Hot Topics table — well, all but one, that is.
Anyone who tuned in this morning was sure to notice within the first few minutes of the show that Whoopi Goldberg was missing. While she was present for yesterday’s show, she was absent on the Thursday broadcast, during which Joy Behar took over as moderator.
The last time we saw Goldberg was the Wednesday (March 19) show, when she and her co-hosts once again discussed House Minority Leader Chuck Schumer‘s decision to vote in favor of a G.O.P. spending bill to avoid a government shutdown. The panel was split on Schumer’s divisive choice, with some arguing that a government shutdown would have spelled more trouble for the American people and others accusing the senator of failing to fight for the Democrats’ cause.
Also yesterday, The View welcomed guest Robert De Niro, who was once again censored for his remarks on the show while talking about how he got his dogs Lily and Antsy cast in his new Barry Levinson crime drama The Alto Knights.
The last time Goldberg missed the show was in late February, when she unfortunately got sick with the flu and had to call out of The View for a couple of days. At the time, Behar shared, “We hope you’re feeling better, Whoopi. Come back soon.”
Where is Goldberg this time? Here’s what we know about why she’s missing from The View and when she’s expected to return.
Where is Whoopi Goldberg?
Within the first minute of today’s show, Behar noted that Goldberg would not be joining them at the table, but declined to share why.
“Hello everyone, and welcome to The View. So Whoopi is off today, I’m sorry,” she said at the top of the episode. Of course, her announcement was met with audible disappointment from the studio audience, and we’re right there with them.
DECIDER has reached out to The View for more information.
When will Whoopi Goldberg be back on The View?
Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long for Goldberg to come back to the table. We can’t expect to see her tomorrow, since she’s off on Fridays, but we will see her on the show again next Monday, March 24, Behar confirmed.
