Where to buy tickets, schedule, dates
Your favorite classic rockerâs favorite classic rocker is hitting the road.
Sparks just announced theyâre embarking on their international âMad! Tourâ in support of their forthcoming 26th studio album âMad!â which hits shelves May 23.
While out and about, the prolific group is scheduled to make a lone New York stop when they drop into Brooklynâs Kings Theater on Friday, Sept. 12.
These shows will be the bandâs first since 2023âs âWorld Tour,â which included a gig at New York Cityâs Beacon Theatre.
âAfter 55 years together, Sparks still sounds like Queen was put in a blender with T. Rex, The Beatles and Kraftwerk,â The New York Post wrote in an emphatic review of the concert. âIf any of those bands strike your fancy, seek them out live now, now, now.â
Prior to the new recordâs release, The Mael brothers have released three singles â âDrowned In A Sea Of Tears,â âJanSport Backpackâ and âDo Things My Own Way.â Based on our findings on Spotify, the âMad!â will be comprised of 12 tracks with cheeky titles like âRunning Up A Tab At The Hotel For The Fab,â âDonât Dog Itâ and âA Little Bit of Light Banter.â
Fans Mael men and women can purchase tickets for all upcoming North American Sparks shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the âMad! Tourâ is Friday, April 11.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Sparks new music
Brothers Russell and Ron Mael are in their late â70s and are somehow still delivering some of the most vital music of their career.
If you donât believe us, we recommend you check out the grabby three lead singles that predate the release of âMad!â
Album opener âDo Things My Own Wayâ is an urgent piece of piece of power-pop that gets under your skin until youâre grooving right along with its sexy bass line. Right after, the bouncy âJanSport Backpackâ embraces the groupâs sillier side. Goofy lyrics accompany a carnival-like tune, something self-serious rockers would never even consider. The sense of fun that pervades the bandâs sound is certainly a welcome touch.
Finally, the cinematic âDrowned In A Sea Of Tearsâ â which might take the cake for the most dramatic song title of all time â thankfully never approaches the maudlin. Ronâs deadpan vocals (which sound a little David Byrne-y here) mixed with the tuneâs propulsive backbeat give the song a real thrust. And, yes, like most Sparks songs, youâll likely be humming this one for days.
To hear for yourself, you can find all three âMad!â lead singles here.
And, if you havenât seen Edgar Wrightâs fantastic documentary âThe Sparks Brothersâ about the Maels, you can find the eye-opening look at the band on Amazon.
