Officials Assess Wildfire Damage in Coastal Texas
Two wildfires in coastal Texas reached 85 percent and 95 percent containment, respectively, on Friday, April 11.
Firefighters were able to contain the Salt Flats fire by 85 percent just after midnight on Friday and the Aransas Woods fire by 95 percent as of 11:26 am on Friday, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.
On Friday afternoon, the Aransas County Office of Emergency Management posted footage of some of the damage caused by the fires in Rockport, Texas.
According to the office, the Red Cross was also assessing areas damaged by the fires on Friday.
