Palm Springs police urge public to avoid S Calle El Segundo and Saturino Road for incident

The Palm Springs Police Department urged individuals to stay clear of the area around S Calle El Segundo and Saturino Road for nearly two hours on Saturday afternoon.
“If you are already nearby, remain indoors,” the police posted on social media around 1:41 p.m., Saturday.
Chief Andy Mills urged people to shelter in place while officers work on an incident.
“If not here presently, avoid the area,” he added in a social media post.
By 3:30 p.m., police said in an email to residents police activity had concluded. The department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Local resident Brian Volz said police searched a white car outside the Village Traditions housing complex at around 2:40 p.m. near Baristo Park and Saturino Road. He said the car was not present when he arrived home at 1 p.m., and a police officer knocked on doors to tell people not to go outside earlier that day.
