Snow on the way for parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey

• Snow is expected to fall in parts of the Delaware Valley Sunday evening.

• The snowfall is expected to begin around 5 p.m. and end by 10 p.m.

• Areas will accumulate anywhere from a coasting to one inch of snow.

PHILADELPHIA – It appears Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction for six more weeks of winter is already underway for the Delaware Valley!

What we know

Another chilly winter Sunday as the morning sun turns to cloudy skies later in the day as snow makes its way to several counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The Lehigh Valley, Berks, upper Bucks and Montgomery counties, along with Mercer County can expect a coating to an inch of snow from 5 to 9 p.m.

Timeline

Flurries will start to fall in Berk County and the Lehigh Valley around dinnertime, with more snow in upper Bucks, Montgomery and Mercer counties by 7 p.m.

Some flurries could make it down to Chester, Delaware and Burlington counties around 7-8 p.m.

But, the snow wraps up for everyone between 9-10 p.m.

By the numbers

The Poconos will see the most snowfall, with nearly 3 inches, followed by nearly an inch in Allentown, half an inch in Reading and a quarter of an inch in Doylestown.

Philadelphia is expected to miss out on this snowfall!

What’s next

Looking ahead, some areas will get sleet on Wednesday evening before everything turns to rain later that night.
